Thank you for doing such an exhaustive job. Then attempt to do an audio capture with the new settings and go from there. In Jaksta Media Recorder go to Preferences > Audio Capture and select 'Record Silence' and then set the 'Max Silence Record Time' to 1 minute or so.
SOUNDFLOWER FOR SIERRA MAC
Reboot the Mac and then do a reinstall of the latest version ( ) and it will generate a new copy of the deleted folder and the application files.Īlso, just to rule out variables when you are doing your testing, it would be a good idea to tinker with some of the Audio Capture settings (Toggle needs to be set to OFF - try turning it OFF in stream capture mode and then changing it to AC mode whilst still in the OFF position). Then in Finder go to the top menu and then access Go > (holding one of shift/alt/control/command) Library > Application Support > Jaksta Music Recorder and delete that folder ( NOTE: doing this will erase your library file list in Jaksta, but your downloaded/converted files will remain intact in their destination folders). What you will need to do is delete the app (uninstall) from Applications instead of just reinstalling over it. If there is a break in the programs processes then this should reset them. The fact that the ON/OFF toggle is not responding in Audio Capture Mode suggests that something is broken in the app.Īt this point I would recommend doing a hard reinstall. What was common in those instances was that the Soundlfower settings did not show in Sound Preferences, but by the sounds of it they are appearing for you and can be selected/interacted with.
SOUNDFLOWER FOR SIERRA MAC OS
We have had some issues with Soundlfower reported and we suspect they were OS-related, but they were mostly relevant to users who were installing it for the the first time on a new-ish Mac OS (I think it started with High Sierra).
SOUNDFLOWER FOR SIERRA UPDATE
Quite possibly, the update to Mojave broke something or another element is in play and has caused a problem. I would still be inclined to say this an isolated issue with your particular system rather than an inherent conflict with Mojave, as I cannot replicate it. I still can not record anything.Īs per my earlier note, there were no issues until after I updated to MacOS Mohave, version 10.14. Unfortunately, none of the above has changed. I have rebooted the Mac, downloaded and installed the latest MR version 2.5.5. Sound can be heard only when the Mac Audio Output is Internal Speaker. Nothing can be heard with Mac Audio Output as Soundflower. In Audio Capture Mode the ON/OFF toggle does not appear to function. Try manually selecting Soundflower (2ch) and that should kick it back into the correct behaviour and restore the recording ability. However, In Audio Capture Mode although the toggle does does not visibly change, I can see the Mac Audio Output toggle between Soundflower and Internal Speaker. The ON/OFF toggle will only actually turn OFF in Streaming Mode. When it is turned OFF, you should be able to change those settings. I also got the notice to allow access to the internal microphone after updating to Mojave, so that in itself is not unusual. This response is based on the assumption that when you say 'record' you are referring to the Audio Capture method only. If it continues to be erratic then I would suggest doing a reinstall, and that should also reset and restore any functions that may be broken. It will hopefully continue to behave itself from then on as you change between turning the recording off and on. If what you are describing is an instance of it being turned ON and the Output as Internal Speakers in the Mac sound preferences, then that is not correct. When it is OFF it should be showing as Input as Soundflower and Output as Internal Speakers. Mac sound preferences should be showing the Input as Soundflower and Output as Soundflower (2ch) when it is active and recording (switched to ON). If you still cannot then it is likely that you do have some sort of issue, but it is unlikely to be specific or an inherent conflict with Mojave. The greyed out audio device selection is probably due to you having it still ON/OFF toggle still switched to ON, which prevents any changes to the audio capture settings. We built the audio capture feature specifically to capture from sites and services that have found a way to block the stream capturing, with Spotify being the main one. This response is based on the assumption that when you say 'record' you are referring to the Audio Capture method only, and not the stream capture method.
